Ask your Doctor

Ask your Doctor

As with any new diet or eating trend you may be curious about, ask your Doctor. If you have higher cholesterol, or hyperglycemia some of the trending eating styles may not be for you!

Keto & Paleo

Keto & Paleo

Keto and Paleo are very popular diets where the majority of calories come from healthy fats. Carbohydrates such as flour, sugar, bread, pasta, beans, potatoes and rice are strictly forbidden on KETO, with 20-50 grams of carbs being obtained through non starchy veggies. PALEO has more grace for carbs, but only allows whole foods, no grains, and no dairy. Paleo also leans toward higher portions of protein.

Lean Low Fat & Carb Cycling

Lean Low Fat & Carb Cycling

Low fat eating dictates that less than 30% of the caloric intake should be from fat. All carbohydrates are acceptable. Carb Cycling is a dietary approach in which carb intake is alternated on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. EXAMPLE (weekly): Carbs included in only one meal a day MWF, and T TH, very low carb days, Sat is a free day, and Sun is carb heavy.

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent Fasting

Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of eating and fasting. It does not lend to which foods to eat, but rather when to eat them. There are several different intermittent fasting methods, all of which split the day or week into eating periods and fasting periods. Most people fast during the night, since sleeping occupies that time. The first meal of the day is breakfast or BREAK-FAST.
